028 Content is King

Content is King.

You may have heard the saying but do you know it to be true? I would say good content is king. Anyone can post rubbish share rubbish and increase the overwhelming sea of rubbish content out there. But when you post good content quality content content that teaches, or entertains or draws on emotion well then you have some King content.

What is Content

Content is anything and everything you share online, a photo, a social post, a blog, a video or a podcast. Each of this is a touch point for your audience.

You should be aiming to produce one piece of King content a week, this would usually be a blog post but could be a podcast or a video. This content keeps your site fresh in the eyes of google and gives potential clients a reason to keep coming back to your website. You should then be looking to create your daily content around supporting that weekly content and that's what this episode looks at.

Don't forget consistency is key so if you can only commit to bi weekly this repurposing strategy will really help you make that bi-weekly content work for you.

Social media content

How many social platforms are you on? Do you post on them all regularly? Do you find creating content for all these different platforms exhausting?

If the answer is yes to that last one I got you boo.

It's important to remember that not everyone sees what you post and not everyone follows you on all social platforms. So, STOP trying to think of original content for every social media platform. You'll burn yourself out without needing to do anything else.

Let me show you how one blog post can create 24 social media posts. These 24 posts give you the opportunity to drive people to your website. Once there you need to have a call to action on the page they are on so they know what to do next. Like, click her to get my pricing brochure or click here to take a quiz to find out which of my packages would best suit you and your wedding, something along those lines.

Your Content Topic & your Points

I know for a lot of you your blogs would be a place to share your real weddings and I don't discourage that at all because it's great for people to see the work you do and have done. But try to tie into the post 3- 5 points you can use. For example if you did a boho woodland wedding, talk about the wedding, but also give your top 3 favorite must haves you saw at this boho wedding.

You then take each of those points as a post. Example 'one of my top fav things to have at a boho wedding is X because x,y,z head over to my blog post of Kate & Sams boho wedding to see the other 3.'

You can put this post on each of your platforms on different days and you can do the same with the other 2-4 points. This will give you 9 -15 posts across 3 social platforms depending on if it's 3 or 5 points.

Content infographic

Using an infographic is a great way to visually summarise your blog post. Canva has lots of infographic templates you can use and you can adjust them to your branding too. Canva is a great tool to use for graphics and Marie-Louise from Lovely Evolution is an expert in using canva for business please check her out here if you need any marketing help.

Audio & Video Content

To extend the life of your blog further you could also create audio and visual versions. You can do both of these at the same time which is a great time saver. Set your camera up talk through the blog record the video and the audio and there's another two opportunities to get your content out there.  Post the video a few weeks after the original post and link to the blog in the video description and do the same with the audio.

You can embed a video or podcast with your original content like you see me do at the top is the podcast you can listen too and below the blog you can read. There is slightly different content in both so always worth a listen as the podcast is the main content.

Content Summary

Always have 3-5 points in your blog posts, video or podcast, whichever is your main content method. Remember you don't have to do all the things but these are some easy ways to increase the life of your main piece of content.

Choose what fits best for you but don't sit back in comfort, remember success lurks just outside your comfort zone.
