The Society of Professional Wedding Vendors

The Society of Professional Wedding Vendors was an idea formed back in 2015. The idea behind the Society is  that professional wedding vendors will be acknowledged for their professionalism and those who aren't professionals will be inspired to become that way.

It is important to the society and its members that couples receive the highest level of client care throughout their planning as well as on the day and beyond. Those who join the SPWV abide by a code of conduct which was created and agreed upon by the founding members of the society.

Currently the Society has a closed door policy which means members are only able to join a few times a year. This is to ensure all members are given the same information and attention when they join so they can  gain a full understanding of what it means to be a member of the Society.

The Society produces a podcast for Wedding Professionals on a weekly basis to help all vendors up skill and learn more about the industry and business. Our Society is also linked to Bride toBe TV a YouTube Channel designed to inspire and educate brides as they plan their wedding day.

About our Founder

Hi there, my name is Donna and I am the founder of the Society of Professional Wedding Vendors. I've spent over 11 years in the wedding industry mainly as a wedding photographer but more recently as a wedding planner of a venue.

I have seen some things in my time that have both amazed and astounded me, in a good way but occasionally in a more shocking way.

I am a huge romantic, I love, love and what marriage means. When I was young, I watched all the fairy tales and as I grew up all the rom-coms and romances. Basically, I live in a world where fairy tales do comes true. You just have to remember they aren't perfect 100% of the time and it doesn't come without effort.

So to me a couples wedding day is the start of this new commitment to each other a day one or both have dreamed of for a long time and they deserve to have the best send of into marriage. I want their day to be perfect for them. But, I have seen on too many occasions and instances where their day has had an imperfect element that could have been avoided.

That is why I created the Society, to encourage professionalism, to support professionalism and to acknowledge and reward professionalism within the wedding industry.

I hope to see you on the inside
